Zanden's model 7000-845
amplifiers are single-ended stereo triode designs. They have been engineered
with a single purpose: the realistic reproduction of live music. To this
end no detail has been overlooked and Zanden has truly created one of the
worldﾕs finest SET amplifiers. |
Like all 7000 line amplifiers the model 7000-845 benefits
from a unique patented 3rd stage NO-NFB (no negative feedback) direct coupled
vacuum tube circuit. The power supply is constructed entirely from tube rectifiers
to exclude the switching noise of diodes. A PC board is utilized to achieve
the shortest possible signal path, and the highest quality parts are used
throughout, including polypropylene film caps. The base, front and rear panels
are constructed of 16 mm thick aluminum to keep vibrations to a minimum.
The unit is then covered with beautiful stainless steel polished to a mirror
finish. An excellent passive volume attenuator made by DACT is also included,
so the model 7000 can be used directly with a CD player or similar source.
The 7000-845 differs from its 300B sibling in the choice of power tubes.
It uses the 845 power tube instead. This gives the 7000-845 a slight advantage
in dynamic range and power output vis--vis its 300B sibling.
